This may seem like something of a silly post to have. You are an internet savvy webgoddess, and of course you already know how to use forums.

I’m not gonna argue.

But the official WoW forums are a scary place. You’ll need protection.

What are the WoW Official Forums?
The WoW forums can be found at forums.worldofwarcraft.com.That’s a lotta forums. Don’t worry, you don’t need most of them. The priest forum is the one that we’ll be mostly concerned with.

Prayer of Mending (Frisbee)

Today, my gentle snowflakes, we will discuss the priest ability Prayer of Mending.

I don’t call it “Prayer of Mending” as that name doesn’t have any useful or meaningful verbiage in it whatsoever. Instead, I shall call it “Frisbee”. I hope to infect all of the WoW playerbase with this term. Not only is it easier to remember and say, it actually indicates something of the purpose of the spell.

This is actually one of my favorite priest spells, because it’s something of a game.

Priests learn Frisbee from their trainer at level 68.

The tooltip says :

Places a spell on the target that heals them for XXX the next time they take damage. When the heal occurs, Prayer of Mending jumps to a raid member within 20 yards. Jumps up to 5 times and lasts until cancelled after each jump. This spell can only be placed on one target at a time.

This particular spell actually has some subtle gotchas that aren’t covered by the tooltip - I’ll cover those in just a moment. As always, let’s dissect the tooltip a bit first.

So yes. Long time no see.

<.<

No, I haven’t abandoned the blog, but last week was somewhat hectic, and the addition of a holiday on Wednesday played merry havoc with my internal clock.

News includes the fact that I’m now Raid Assist for my guild (which means there was a great deal of scrambling and flailing, as I tried to prepare for the position).

For rather obvious reasons, this means I’ll have a lot less time for Ego posts, but I really enjoy them. So my new goal is to have two updates a week. Tuesday and Thursday.

This should be good for YOU, since you know when to check in. It’ll be good for ME, since I will have time for other things, like work and family and wow. As someone once said to me, it’s never a good sign if you’re spending more time writing about playing the game than actually…playing the game.

So, that being said…see you tomorrow!

Okay, okay. I promised an entry on Assisting, so here it is.

What is Assisting?
If you are assisting, then you are not choosing your own mob.

That…that’s pretty much the gist of it. At it’s heart, that is all assisting is. Not picking your own mob.

By now you know me well enough to know I’d never leave an entry that short, so of course I’m going to complicate things.

If you aren’t choosing your own mob, how are you getting the mob? The answer is the key to assisting - the Main Assist.
