Question for my readers …

As you all know, my posts have dropped from two a week down to a single. This is because life put me in a pair of cement boots and the tide is coming in.

However, I find myself in a situation where I can offer you -some- kind of amusement on Tuesdays, mostly because it actually entails zero effort on my part (love those).

I’ve got some stories that I wrote about Vonya which I could post here.

They have zero educational value and haven’t been heavily edited or anything.

But they’re moderately entertaining, and it would be more text to keep y’all from forgetting I exist while I slave away at homework and vow never again to take night classes.

So, my questions are as follows :

1) Would you want me to post them, or would you prefer silence to random stories?

-and-

2) If I -do- post them, would you like me to hide them behind cuts so that those not interested can just ignore them? (I don’t cut my new entries so that those using feed readers can still access the information).

This wouldn’t be a regular feature on the blog - this would just be something to help tide you over till I get done with my classes and can pick up my second day with useful posts again.

That’s it. I know it’s my blog and I can post what I want to, but I do not exist in a bubble. If most of you flat out don’t care or know you’ll just scroll past ‘em, I’ll save the time it takes to format them and keep the status quo. But if a handful of you might be interested, I figure it’s a decent apology for the one-post-a-week that’s currently plaguing my blog.

The Ego team has a new member - Zasp!

You might not notice him much (he being one of those stealthy rogue types), but it’s thanks to him that I’m getting weekly updates to my sidebar image. =]

Welcome to the team, Zasp! And thanks for putting up with my last-minute topic changes. *winks*

2.4 Public Service Announcement

Those of you who know me know that I don’t usually like to spend much time talking about upcoming patches until they become a reality.

Things keep changing and getting nerfed and renerfed right up to the point of deployment, so I don’t generally see much value in speculation and preparation for things that may never even come to pass.

Keeps me from getting my fragile little hopes up too high.

HOWEVER.

However, 2.4 looks like it’s got some stuff that - if it makes it all the way to live - we’re all gonna wish we’d spent a little time preparing for. (And oddly enough, all three add up to very good reasons to run Heroic Botanica)

Tiered Healing

Going through the comments and entries lately, there’s been a lot of discussion and concern over “tunnel vision healing” and “healing whoever needs it”.

So today, I’m going to talk about “Tiered Healing”. No, that’s not the official term for it. As far as I know, there IS no official term for it. But it fits well enough, so by golly I’m gonna use it.

I’m not making this part of the Raid Healing series, because the base idea should be learned in five-mans. It’s not a concept that only exists in the raiding world - raiding simply throws it into sharp contrast.

So what IS Tiered Healing?

Gruul - From a Healer’s Perspective

Same as last time, folks. Go look up the Gruul fight on bosskillers or wowwiki or something before you continue reading. Otherwise you’re gonna have no idea what I’m talking about.

…back? Good.

Gruul is actually easier to heal than Maulgar, because the incoming damage is more predictable. With Maulgar, you’ve got five sources of incoming damage in varying quantities. If any one of those “tanks” dies, then you’ve got yourself a pretty nasty problem.

Gruul, on the other hand, while not the only source of incoming damage, is pretty straightforward.

Let’s look at what we’re up against.

High King Maulgar, from the Healer’s Perspective

Green bars.

The end. =]

Kidding! Kidding! You didn’t really think I was capable of a post that short, did you? Pffft.

Okay, firstly, this is from the healer’s perspective. What does that mean? Two-thirds of the strategy for this fight is left out. It’s best if you read about the fight in its entirety on someplace like BossKillers first. Why? So you’ll understand what I’m talking about here.

Go ahead. I’ll wait.

*taps hooves*

Back? Good.

This week there is a special occurrence! THURSDAY will actually happen a day later than it normally does.

This is a once in a lifetime deal, folks. Amazing that I caught it this soon!

So TOMORROW will actually BE Thursday.

(aaaand I might have forgotten to write an Ego post today….and only just now realized it was Thursday…It wasn’t my fault! It was all the snow!)
