Do a gaming podcast, if that's what you're into. Don;t do something just for the sake of it - it'll come across badly. Find a subject you are familiar with. Best of luck!

I pretty much only listen to wow ones so here are my favs.

The Amusing:
Legendary Thread
GFW weekly podcast
Tavencast (when they release one. They used to be a warcraft podcast but now they just talk about stuff)
The Instance

Girly Ones:
Epic Dolls
Elunes Grace

Other Ones in order of preferance:
Wow Insider
Twisting Nether (NEWISH and very good - contains the people behind the wow blogs)\
How I Wow (interesting interviews with people well known or maybe not so well known about themselves and their wow experiences)
World of Warcast
Wow Things Considered
Blue Please (for his rants)
Casually Hardcore
Warcraft Anonymous

Twisted Nether is definitely available on iTunes at: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=281632764

(sorry for the annoying cryptic URL)..

I also agree with the above commenters that the Instance is great and also I listen to all the 1up podcasts (well, most of them)..

I just wrote about a bunch of podcasts that I listen to that helps me keep on top of WoW related things if you want to check it out (http://dblbbl.com/content/consuming-distilled-wotlk-beta-news). They're also all available on iTunes for ease of adding it to your iPod.

On non-WoW related stuff I find that NPR Radio: Science Friday has some engaging topics.

Neither are WoW or gaming related, but I'm a big fan of This American Life, and The Bugle. I'd also suggest Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.

Found some decent ones at Tankspot.com too - although, they are primarily about tanking, of course... :)

But there's a variety of subjects.

Since WoW seems to be pretty well covered, I'd recommend Radio Labs which can be found on iTunes. It's an NPR show by WNYC that covers many different subjects from a scientific perspective. It is done very well and is always entertaining. And since it's from NPR it will satisfy the "broader vocabulary than the average street corner conversation" criteria.
