So this week was weird. Not zombie weird, or paladins nerfed to the ground weird, or even horseman disappearing RIGHT at 4am weird.
I mean weird as in, no one had a clue what to do kind of weird.
I was settling all comfortably into my role as emissary of doom from the cult of the shadow, pewpewing and face-melting as necessary in my attempt to maybe reach outlands properly. Then I thought, hey, it’d be kind of neat to go with a group into one of them thar dungeons again. I bet I’d be fine in BRD.
So I went to my trainer in Thunderbluff. Don’t ask me why I was in Thunderbluff. I think I slurred or something when talking to the flight master. It was a long, meandering flight, and I spent most of the time wondering why the stupid scorpio-cat-bat-thing was as drunk as someone with a year’s subscription to beer-in-your-mail. Which is not me.
Anyway, poof, there went all my spells, and I tapped into that magic looking-for-meatshields thing while I poked around at new healery type spells.
And I kept poking around, and kept watching people looking for tanks for this or that. All for places in outland. Or Wailing Caverns. Why those two extremes all the time? But only for tanks. One person was looking for heals, but he was also looking for tanks and three “good dps” for Kara. These days, I don’t even know what counts for good dps. Not dying? Dying in a spectacular manner? Finally I got tired of half-heartedly poking at my healing spells and started just picking talents willy nilly. I don’t think I know what half of these things do anymore, but anything that looked to increase my super-awesome priest healing abilities would be great.
When I logged back in, all that random point-clicking had come undone. Maybe I didn’t click hard enough? Anyway, I joined back up in the looking-for-meatshields and started scowling at my trainer again. Before clicking anything, I took a closer look at who was available to be my personal meatshield. I wasn’t picky about what dungeon we molested, so that made it both easy and difficult to find people.
“Healer looking for whatever” doesn’t encourage people to join your illustrious cause, it seems. Besides, I wasn’t technically a healer at the moment. I wasn’t technically anything, and my trainer was looking impatient. As impatient as someone can look when they have leather straps bolted in an X across their face. It can be done, trust me.
So, yeah. There was no one. I don’t mean there wasn’t anyone looking for a dungeon that I wanted to visit – like I said, I wasn’t picky. I mean, there wasn’t anyone. NO ONE. I did a quick scan using powerful magics of /who 54-58.
It was me and some druid in Tanaris. And he logged off as I watched.
Picking out all those healing abilities seemed kind of silly at that point, but with all the changes that have come down the line, recently, I wasn’t really sure where to put my pewpew-facemelting points.
Maybe I’ll just wait for Northrend and something will happen to make people pop up around looking for healinators again. Yes, I’m still nervous about running around out there by myself after the whole zombie thing. I still can’t talk to the bankers in Undercity like I used to…
ps: ASK ME KWESTCHUNS. Maybe I will use your innane quandries to fuel my spite-filled anecdotes another time, while I wait for some meatshields to get big enough to be deserving of my leet heals. Or … have me along for face melting. I have no idea.

@Hanners – all I can say is that on my server instances have been feast or famine, and at that more famine than I care for. Maybe everyone has been busy farming the scourge invasion sites to gear up or dis-enchant. Our guild in fact spend about 4 hours hopping from point to point gearing up multiple people and getting everyone their argent dawn tabbard. (I still run across those stupid things.) Blizzard must hate people going to Kara since they put not 1 but 2 of those things on the way from the portal to stonard and one of thse you cant even skip if they are there. It could be that now that the “new” has worn off the new talents everyone is done until the wotlk hits. If I wasn’t actively interested in seeing old world instances I probably wouldn’t be on either. Maybe everyone is out exploring all the zones still, this is surprisingly time consuming even on an epic land mount. Heaven forbid they may even be doing all the starting area quests for each faction to try and get exalted with everyone.
All I know is that Sunday the feast hit and I got 4 instances in the morning (speed runs are fun) into 3 instances I had never been in on my lock. I even managed slabs to get the 1st key frag for kara in the evening before the gruuls run.
It was bad enough over the weekend that I solo’d – scholomance, sunken temple, deadmines, stockades and mara. I tried BRD but got dreadfully lost in there but it’s getting better. (life as a lock is so much easier than a shadow priest)
So as for a question … hmmm … whats a good site to go to for brd instructions so I can knock of the boss ?

Hmmm, so much for the _Horde_

OK, I’ll give you a quest-shun:
What is being done, should be done, or could be done to equallize the competativeness in battlegroups between factions?
I too, noticed that the world ended. So, I jumped into a few BG’s to ……..to do something.
I know from experience that on the Emberstorm battlegroup, getting 30 AB marks takes about 27 matches. I could pontificate as to why, but that would be pointless. I do know that in AB, I succeeded in being the top DPS, (near) top healer, and most killed ……all in one game. Not to oversatate my antlers, but as a balance druid, I can bring the gentle rain and the heavy thunder. But when I am our top DPS, something is really really wrong.
Bliz says that the new Northrend world pvp will contain some auto buffage to compensate the side that needs it. Could that be done in BGs as well? Should it be? I’m against gubment regulations just as much as any gobblin vendor; but when every battleground is a measure of pain and disgrace, something should be considered.
You asked, and there ya’ go,

Ok, I just finished up BRD last night so Ill have to come up with a new question …
BRD – pretty much getting your shadowforge key is the key to this place. Once I had that things got much easier. I even picked up a some quests for that place, which required 2 runs into the stupid place. I even have a 3rd run planned once I have all the mat’s for the love potion (can you say easy pass in the bar, I can do tours now so this will be nice) Safe to say if your horde, let the princess die since she’s not appreciative at all
Question – I hit revered turning in the princess quest, revered with the “Horde”. So pray tell what is that rep used for ???
November 4th, 2008
When you hit exalted with Silvermoon, Undercity, Ogrimmar, Thunderbluff and/or Darkspear Trolls you can buy their mounts, and you’ll get acheivements, that’s about it
November 4th, 2008
Getting “Horde” or “Alliance” rep gives you some rep for each of the factions therein.
November 4th, 2008
@Adrexis & Tomo – Thanks for the quick response, I usually do the 30/30/30 bg turn in to get my off race mounts so I forget about exalted at times
Hopefully the Horde/Alliance rep is splash rep since that may be a cheap way to get rep while doing AV. The AV turn-in quests (I know the armor scraps for horde for certain) give you Horde rep, which would make getting exalted with all your factions a bit easier. I for one do not relish doing every single stinking starting area quest :p

Question: What realm do you reside on?
I have a transfer fee burning in my pocket, all my toons are on the same server and I am tired of getting the same results no matter my class but I don’t feel like leveling through the first 40 levels again. I have a 46 Troll prot warrior I have been itching to move, I haven’t played him in a bit due to aformentioned lack of intrest in my server. I can make up 10 or so levels pretty quick, it’s not hard.
Tank LF Heals.

Trust me when I say that we meatshields (those interested in DOING SOMETHING) are just about as lonely, if we haven’t found a master of healery to stick in our back pocket. Even then, I’ve found it hard to find capable DPS interested in doing anything, either. It seems that, for the time being, all activities not directly associated with Wrath are indefinitely suspended.

Wondering about where to put your new talents? For your style of play (PUG’ing) Discipline is the way to go. For 5 man instancing and survivability in solo play you can’t beat it, now that shields aren’t death to a warriors ability to hold aggro this is actually a really good spec. I mean deep Disc too, DEEP. I have gone all the way down at 70 and for 5-10 man instances (granted with the huge nerf to content it’s hard to judge) I have no problems, the only issue I had in BT the other day was 2 other priests and a shammy were spaming AOE healing everywhere so I just started DPS’ing lol.
It is also really good for questing and such although I miss desperate Prayer and Improved death sometimes, but hey where the hell was my tank if I need those right? Anyway If you go Disc Heavy you will want gear typically thought of as DPS for the Crit rating and should aim for 20% ish (at 70) remember it is all about bubbles and renew =) a good tank shouldn’t need more than that.

“so I just started DPS’ing lol.”
